MSC is reportedly adding up to 20 more 20,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel ships at Hengli.

Before that reported deal, MSC’s orderbook at 144 ships and 2.4m TEU.

At the same time, TiL has agreed to invest $1.4bn for 49% of Adani Vizhinjam Port, subject to approvals.

Vizhinjam has 1.6m TEU capacity today and is planned to reach 5.7m TEU by December 2028.

Separately, this looks like a ship order and an India port deal.

Together, they ask a sharper question: can MSC build enough cargo density to make its future fleet pay?
