🔥 Greetings, Maritime Mavericks!

Something remarkable just happened in the world of shipbuilding.

For the first time ever, a global container shipping giant—CMA CGM—has placed an order with an Indian shipyard.

Six brand-new 1,700 TEU LNG-powered feeder ships will be built by Cochin Shipyard, India’s largest and most advanced shipbuilder.

The $300 million deal is more than a contract—it’s a symbol of India’s growing strength in green shipbuilding and a milestone that could reshape the country’s maritime future.

🌏 A Partnership That Changes Everything!

Cochin Shipyard signed a letter of intent with CMA CGM, confirming the construction of six dual-fuel vessels ready for low-carbon operations. The ships will run on LNG—and are designed for future fuels such as methanol or hydrogen.

Each vessel will proudly sail under the Indian flag, a historic first for an international carrier at an Indian yard.

To ensure world-class standards, Cochin will collaborate with South Korea’s HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, combining Indian capability with Korean technology.
